The one year anniversary of our arrival in London. We came off a red-eye flight from NYC departing on July 2nd 2011, arriving bright and early on July 3rd. Michael started work on Monday July 4th. No American flags or BBQs were in store for us last 4th of July! And they will have to wait until the weekend this year as tomorrow is just any old workday here in the UK.

The past year has both flown by as well as dragged on depending on how I am thinking about it. In some respects, it feels like we just left and everything is as it was back in NYC before we departed. In other regards, it feels like so much time has gone by and crazy things have changed like the new Fairway opening up by our old apartment.

I wonder how we’ll feel this time next year about it all. Only time will tell. I wouldn’t mind enjoying a beach BBQ with my friends in America right about now, though, I can tell you that much.
